  Murat founded the Kebzeh Foundation, the Essentialist Church of Christ and the Kebzeh Foundation U.S. Inc. He has devoted students in the U.S., South America, Israel, and Abkhazia, an established close-knit Kebzeh community in Vernon, B.C. and many elsewhere in Canada and the world study his teachings.   The teaching of Kebzeh contains three hierarchical levels - Aleishwe, Kebzeh and Ahmsta Kebzeh. The first level, Aleishwe, is the level of etiquette, regulating the social behaviour of human beings in the society, in every day life, in welcoming guests, in ceremonies related to weddings and funeral rituals, in visiting relatives, friends and so on.

  Ya’qub pursued the teachings of Murat Yagan, which he employed as the leader of a Sufi group. Applying skills he had learned interpreting Hasidic texts, he became the compiler and editor of his book: The Teachings of Kebzeh: Essentials of Sufism from the Caucasus Mountains. The Kebzeh community was awesome. Its motto is “one for all, all for one,” a sweet ‘take’ on unity and an active reminder of the role of community. Though as kids we didn’t delve too deeply into the formal teachings of Kebzeh, you know you’re engaged when you’re reminded of the time you said, “Heck, mom, what’s money compared.
